What is AMOS?

AMOS is a maintenance, repair and overhaul system for aircraft operators and maintenance organisations, built from core and optional modules and extended by AMOSeTL for the electronic technical logbook and AMOSmobile for line maintenance execution and stores handling.

Aircraft maintenance software carries an unusual burden. Every component has a life limit measured in flight hours, cycles or calendar time, every task has an interval mandated by the manufacturer or the authority, and an aircraft may not fly if any of them lapses. The system is therefore not tracking work but enforcing airworthiness, and an error does not produce a bad report, it grounds an aircraft or, worse, does not.

The electronic technical logbook replaces the paper record a crew signs after every flight, capturing defects and completed work at the aircraft. Digitising it removes the delay between a defect being noticed and engineering seeing it, which on a paper process can be a full rotation.

Mobile stores handling matters more than it sounds. Maintenance stops when a part cannot be found, and an engineer holding a device that can locate and issue a component avoids the walk to a desk that is how hours disappear on a line.

AMOS FAQs

No rate is published. The vendor quotes per operator, with pricing depending on fleet size, user numbers and the modules taken.

Every component has a life limit and every task a mandated interval, and an aircraft may not fly if any lapses. The system enforces airworthiness rather than merely tracking work.

The electronic technical logbook, replacing the paper record a crew signs after each flight. Digitising it removes the delay between a defect being noticed and engineering seeing it.

Maintenance stops when a part cannot be found. An engineer able to locate and issue a component from a handheld device avoids the walk to a desk that consumes hours on a line.

As core modules with optional additions, so an operator licenses the functions relevant to its operation rather than a fixed suite.
