What is Prisma Access Browser?

Prisma Access Browser is Palo Alto Networks' secure enterprise browser, now presented as Prisma Browser and positioned for what the vendor calls the agentic AI era. It forms part of the Prisma SASE platform rather than being sold as a standalone browser.

Being part of a SASE platform is the defining characteristic and it shapes who should buy it. Secure access service edge combines network security and access control delivered from the cloud, and the browser becomes the endpoint component of that architecture. For an organisation already running Prisma SASE, the browser extends existing policy to the endpoint under one console. For anyone else, adopting it means adopting the platform.

The consolidation argument is genuine. Security teams manage too many separate consoles, and each additional vendor adds integration work and a place for policy to diverge. A browser sharing policy with the network layer removes one of those seams.

The agentic AI framing responds to a real emerging question, since AI agents acting in a browser on a user's behalf raise the problem of what an agent may do and under whose authority, and the browser is where that can be observed and controlled, because it sees the agent's actions in the same place it sees the user's.

Prisma Access Browser FAQs

No rate is published. Palo Alto Networks quotes per organisation, and the browser is licensed within the Prisma SASE platform rather than separately.

It forms part of the Prisma SASE platform. An organisation already running Prisma SASE extends existing policy to the endpoint, while others would be adopting the platform alongside the browser.

Security teams manage too many consoles, and each vendor adds integration work and a place for policy to diverge. A browser sharing policy with the network layer removes one of those seams.

AI agents acting in a browser on a user's behalf raise the question of what an agent may do and under whose authority. The browser is where that activity can be observed and controlled.

The vendor's page presents it as Prisma Browser within the Prisma SASE family, so buyers may encounter either name.
