Venn

Venn secures company data on unmanaged computers through Blue Border, technology that isolates and protects business applications and data locally on any PC or Mac. Work happens inside a visually marked boundary on the employee's own machine, with company data confined to it.

The problem it addresses is a specific and awkward one. Contractors, offshore teams and bring your own device staff need access to company systems on computers the organisation does not own and cannot manage. The traditional answers are shipping a corporate laptop, which is slow and expensive at scale, or virtual desktop infrastructure, which is costly and often unpleasant to use over a poor connection.

Running locally rather than streaming a remote desktop is the key difference and it matters most where those alternatives hurt. Applications run at native speed on the local machine, so there is no latency penalty and no dependence on a good connection, while company data stays inside the boundary and cannot be moved out of it.

The visible border is a small design decision with real value: the user always knows whether they are working inside company space or their own, which removes the ambiguity that causes accidental mixing of personal and business data.
