ENOVIA is Dassault Systemes' product lifecycle management application on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, covering product data management, bill of materials, change and configuration management, project planning and collaboration alongside CATIA, SOLIDWORKS and the rest of the Dassault range.

Sitting on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform rather than beside it is the architectural fact that shapes this purchase, because design, simulation, manufacturing planning and lifecycle management all run on one data model, so a change in CATIA is not exported into ENOVIA, it is the same object.

That is a genuine advantage for organisations standardised on Dassault design tools and a real consideration for anyone else, since the value is proportional to how much of the surrounding estate comes from the same vendor, and a SOLIDWORKS shop gets considerably more from it than a mixed one.

Project planning inside the PLM system is a less common inclusion and a sensible one, because product development schedules and product structure are the same reality viewed differently, and keeping the milestone dates next to the parts they depend on avoids the familiar gap between a plan and what engineering is actually doing. Requirements management, supplier collaboration and quality records complete the application, with industry configurations published for the sectors Dassault serves most heavily.
