Duro

Duro is a cloud native product lifecycle and product data management platform built for hardware development teams, now part of Altium following its acquisition. The product splits into Duro Design for lifecycle management and Duro Drive for product data management, the latter protecting engineering work from overwrites without asking anyone to leave their CAD tool.

The API first design is the distinguishing choice and it targets a specific frustration. Hardware teams assemble a toolchain from CAD, ERP, procurement and manufacturing systems, and a PLM that cannot be queried or driven programmatically becomes the place where that chain breaks. Duro exposes a GraphQL API for querying library data, so the system can sit inside an automated workflow rather than beside it.

Duro Drive addresses the overwrite problem directly, which is the everyday failure in shared CAD work: two engineers open the same assembly and one silently loses an afternoon. Handling that inside the CAD tool rather than through a separate check in ritual is what makes the protection likely to actually be used.

The customer base skews toward aerospace, defence, space and industrial automation, and the vendor publishes SOC 2 Type 2 and ITAR credentials that those sectors require. Case studies describe space hardware programmes using the platform to hold schedule on first of a kind vehicles.
