Asset management is the thread that connects a catalogue of library books to a district's laptop fleet and it explains why one vendor sells both. A school library has always been an inventory system with lending rules, and when districts issued a device to every student they acquired a second inventory with the same problems: what is it, who has it, when is it due back and what condition is it in.

Follett states 22 billion dollars in assets managed, 160 countries, more than 4 million daily logins and 99.9 percent platform uptime. The asset figure is the informative one, because it establishes that this is financial infrastructure rather than a library tool, and a district's technology estate is usually its largest non-property asset class.

Organising the product by role rather than by module is a sound choice for this buyer, since a librarian, a technology director and a curriculum lead want completely different things from the same underlying system and none of them wants to learn the vendor's internal architecture. Implementation, consulting and training are offered as separate services. Rates are not published.
