Grasshopper is the visual programming environment built into Rhino, letting designers define geometry through connected components rather than by drawing it directly, and it ships with Rhino rather than being sold separately.

Rhino is a one time perpetual purchase at 995 dollars commercial, with support and service releases included, rather than a subscription. In a field where the major competitors moved to annual subscription years ago, a perpetual licence means a small practice or independent designer owns their tools outright.

A student licence is 195 dollars as a perpetual purchase, usable for commercial work and including support, which is unusually generous since most student licences forbid commercial use entirely. A 90 day evaluation runs free with no credit card and all features included, also usable commercially. Upgrades are 495 and 595 dollars, with lab and bulk licences published at 9,950 and 49,750 dollars.
