Parasoft Virtualize is service virtualization within Parasoft's automated testing and quality platform, which spans static analysis and unit testing through C/C++test and covers every stage of the software development lifecycle, with published integrations across development toolchains.

Service virtualization solves a scheduling problem rather than a technical one, which is why it is bought. A team cannot test against a mainframe available two hours a week, a partner API that charges per call or a component another team has not finished, so simulating those dependencies is what lets testing happen on the team's own schedule rather than everyone else's.

Sitting inside a wider quality platform is a genuine advantage here because virtualized services are only useful if the tests running against them exist, and a vendor that also supplies the functional, API and load testing can generate both from the same definition rather than asking a team to maintain two descriptions.

Parasoft's presence in embedded and safety-critical development through C/C++test signals the harder end of its market, where standards compliance is a certification requirement rather than good practice, and that rigour is visible in the rest of the range.
