Jira Product Discovery is Atlassian's product for capturing ideas, prioritising them and building roadmaps, connected directly to the Jira issues that deliver the work. The connection to delivery is the argument for choosing it over a standalone roadmap tool.

The problem it addresses is a familiar disconnection. Product decisions are made in one place and engineering work happens in another, so the roadmap presented to stakeholders and the work actually in progress drift apart, and nobody notices until someone asks why a promised feature has not appeared.

Prioritisation is where product management is genuinely hard rather than merely busy. Every idea has an advocate, the loudest advocate is not the best evidence, and a system that records why an idea scored as it did is what allows a decision to be defended later without relitigating it from scratch.

Pricing is published: free forever for three creators, ten dollars per creator per month for Standard, and twenty five for Premium, with up to seventeen percent off annual billing. Charging by creator rather than by viewer is the correct model, since a roadmap is read by many more people than ever edit it, and charging for viewers would discourage exactly the stakeholder visibility the product exists to provide.
