Bonfire

Bonfire is public sector strategic sourcing and bid evaluation software, now sold within the Euna Solutions portfolio following the rebrand. It handles the solicitation process public bodies run, from publishing an opportunity through collecting bids to scoring and awarding them.

Structured evaluation is the part that matters most for public buyers, and it is a defensibility requirement rather than a convenience. A public award can be challenged by an unsuccessful bidder, so the buying organisation must be able to demonstrate that stated criteria were applied consistently by every evaluator to every submission. Software that records each evaluator's scores against published criteria produces that evidence as a by product, where a spreadsheet emailed round a committee does not.

Collecting bids through a portal rather than by email also resolves a problem that sounds administrative but is legal: proving when a submission arrived and that nothing was accessible before the deadline. A timestamped portal settles both questions automatically.
