The NVIDIA App is NVIDIA's unified application for gamers and creators, combining driver updates, per-game graphics settings, performance monitoring and overlay, capture and streaming, and control of GPU features, published with regional sites across dozens of countries.

Consolidating what used to be several applications is the point and it removes a genuine annoyance. Drivers, game optimisation, capture and control panel settings previously lived in separate places with separate logins, and unifying them into one application without an account requirement removed the most common complaint about the previous generation.

Per-game settings optimisation is the feature most users actually rely on, because the relationship between a graphics setting and its performance cost is not obvious, and a recommendation based on the specific hardware saves an evening of experimentation for anyone who does not enjoy that experimentation.

The capture and streaming tools matter more than they appear because they run on dedicated silicon in the GPU rather than on the processor, which is why recording gameplay through them costs a few frames instead of a third of the frame rate. Regional sites across dozens of countries carry local content and support, and the core features work without an account, which was the most common complaint about what came before.
