What is Wise Business?

Wise Business is an international account for companies, covering sending and receiving money across currencies, a multi-currency card, interest on balances, team finance management, accounting software connections and an API.

The transparency of the conversion rate is what Wise built its business on and it remains the substantive point. A bank quoting free international transfers is generally taking its margin inside the exchange rate, where the customer cannot see it, and a business converting significant volume loses far more there than in any stated fee. Charging a visible conversion fee on top of the mid-market rate makes the cost comparable, which is the only way a buyer can actually evaluate providers.

Local account details in multiple currencies are the practical capability for a business selling abroad. Being able to receive as a local rather than through international transfer means overseas customers pay domestically, which is cheaper for them and removes the friction that costs sales. It also avoids the incoming conversion the receiving bank would otherwise perform at its own rate.

Team finance management and accounting software connections turn the account from a transfer service into something a finance function operates, with cards issued to staff and transactions flowing into the ledger rather than being reconciled by hand. Wise Platform is offered separately for banks embedding the infrastructure. Business pricing is published per corridor and transaction rather than as plan tiers.
