Tray.ai is an AI-ready integration and automation platform whose newest component, Tray Helix, is a governed runtime for applications built with AI, aimed at the path from a quickly assembled prototype to something that can safely run in production.

Helix addresses a problem that has appeared very recently and has no established answer. AI now lets people assemble working applications quickly without being engineers, and those applications are genuinely useful, but they arrive with hardcoded credentials, no access control, no cost ceiling and no audit trail. The usual outcomes are that IT bans them or that they quietly run anyway. A governed runtime is the third option: managed authentication with credentials held in Helix rather than in the app, workspace and single sign-on scoped access, an app registry, execution logs and environment separation between development and production.

Cost management is included and it is easy to underestimate. An AI-built application calling paid APIs in a loop can generate a large bill before anyone notices, so per-app and per-team budget tracking with visible spend against a monthly ceiling is a genuine control rather than a reporting nicety.

The app registry gives a named home to what would otherwise be shadow IT, with projects, workspaces, environments and access all recorded, and deployments tracked by build number so a working version can be identified and restored.
