AvidXchange automates accounts payable and payments for middle market businesses, covering purchase order automation, invoice automation, payment automation and an accounts payable as a service option, with a Supplier Hub for the businesses being paid.

Serving both sides is the structural choice that makes the model work. Accounts payable automation is only as good as supplier participation: if a supplier will not receive electronic payment or submit invoices in a usable form, the buyer's automation stops at the point the paper arrives. Building a supplier network alongside the buyer product means suppliers are already connected, and each new buyer inherits that.

Straight through processing is the measure worth asking about, meaning an invoice arriving, matching, being approved and paid without anyone touching it. Every invoice that needs human attention costs roughly what it always did, so the proportion processed straight through determines whether the automation delivers.

Invoice status inquiry deserves a mention because supplier chasing is a large and invisible cost in accounts payable. A supplier portal showing whether an invoice was received and when it will be paid removes a stream of phone calls and emails that no accounts payable team ever accounts for.
