What is Sardine?

Sardine is an agentic financial crime platform spanning onboarding with global know-your-customer and know-your-business, identity, document and bank verification and credit underwriting, fraud prevention across payments, card issuing, merchant monitoring, policy abuse and refund fraud, and cyber security covering account takeover, bot detection and job applicant fraud.

Device and behaviour signals are the foundation everything else sits on and they are the hardest thing to fake. A fraudster can supply a stolen identity's correct details, but how they type them, whether they paste a date of birth, how they hold the phone and whether the device has been seen before are not things a stolen identity carries. That is why behavioural biometrics has become the primary signal in onboarding fraud.

Job applicant fraud as a named product is an unusually current inclusion and it addresses a real emerging problem: fraudulent candidates using false identities to obtain remote roles, sometimes with access to systems and funds, which is a security problem that arrives through the recruitment process rather than the application.

Refund fraud and policy abuse are the entries that reveal a merchant as well as a bank focus, since both are losses a retailer suffers from customers exploiting stated terms rather than from criminals breaching anything. Agentic fraud operations covers automating the investigation work that follows detection. Rates are not published.

Fraudulent candidates using false identities to obtain remote roles, sometimes with access to systems and funds, which arrives through recruitment rather than through the application.

Losses a retailer suffers from customers exploiting stated terms rather than from criminals breaching anything, which conventional fraud tooling does not address.

Automating the investigation work that follows detection, which is where the operational cost of a fraud programme actually sits.
