How to Download Your Snapchat Data (My Data, 2026 Steps)

Snapchat keeps more about you than the app shows: login history, the devices you have used, your friends list, Snap Map and Spotlight activity, and more. The My Data tool lets you download a copy as a zip file. This guide follows Snapchat’s help page as of October 2026.

How to download your Snapchat data

1. Log in at accounts.snapchat.com in a browser. You can also get there from the app: open Settings and select My Data.
2. Click My Data.
3. Select the types of data you want in the download.
4. Choose a date range, or switch the range off to receive everything. Longer ranges take longer to prepare.
5. Confirm the email address where you want to be notified.
6. Click Submit at the bottom of the page.
7. When Snapchat emails you that the export is ready, go back to the page, select See exports, then Download.

The download arrives as a zip file, so you need an app that can open zip files. Both Windows and macOS can do this without extra software.

What you can see without downloading

Your key account details are already in the app. Open Settings from your Profile to see and edit your name, username, birthday, mobile number, email and Bitmoji. Use My Data for the things the app does not show, such as when your account was created and which devices have logged in.

Downloading your Memories

To save individual Snaps from Memories to your phone:

1. Swipe up from the Camera screen to open Memories.
2. Press and hold a Snap and tap Export.
3. Choose where to save it.

To export several at once, tap the selector icon at the top of Memories, tap the Snaps you want, and use the export options at the bottom. You can also include Memories in a My Data request.

Things to know

• Timing: how long an export takes depends on how much data you select.
• Wrong email: if you mistype the email, you can still find the export under See exports on accounts.snapchat.com.

• Locked accounts: you can often still request your data, though Snapchat says it may not be available for some locked account types.
• Deleted content: Snaps and Chats that were deleted or expired without being saved are removed from Snapchat’s servers and will not appear in the export.
