What is StoryTribe?

StoryTribe is an online storyboard maker for film and education, keeping script, storyboards and shot list as a single record, with layered editable AI images, a reusable library of characters, locations and props, a spreadsheet style shot list, animatic export with voiceover and music, and a shared workspace with free guest access for clients.

Treating the three documents as one record is the central idea and it addresses the most common failure in pre-production. A script, a board and a shot list describe the same thing from three angles, and when they live in three files a change to one silently invalidates the other two. Whoever is on set discovers the discrepancy at the worst possible time.

Producing layered editable images rather than flat pictures is a meaningful technical choice. A generated frame that cannot be adjusted forces regeneration for every small change, whereas removing a background, expanding the frame, splitting into layers, retouching or relighting after generation keeps the artist in control of a specific shot instead of gambling on another prompt.

The Elements library is what solves continuity, since saving cast, locations and props once and referencing them means the same character looks the same in shot 3 and shot 47, which is the failure that makes generated storyboards unusable for real work. Import from Final Draft, Fountain, Word or plain text and export to PDF, PowerPoint, spreadsheet or back to Final Draft avoids lock-in. StoryTribe reports over 500,000 creators across 195 countries.
