Lenovo LanSchool

LanSchool is classroom management software helping teachers connect with students in the classroom and remotely, guiding learning, increasing collaboration and maximising teaching time. It describes itself as a pioneer of the category, is backed by Lenovo and builds on thirty years as an education technology product, and has recently added an AI on-task monitoring feature.

Thirty years in education software is a more meaningful credential than it would be in most categories. Schools buy on multi-year cycles with small technology teams and limited appetite for migration, so a product that has survived several generations of classroom hardware is a lower-risk choice than a newer one.

Being owned by a hardware manufacturer cuts both ways for a school to consider. Lenovo supplies a great many school devices, so integration and support can be handled through one relationship, and a district running a different manufacturer's fleet should confirm parity of experience.

On-task monitoring by AI is the newest addition and the one to evaluate rather than assume. Determining whether a student is engaged from screen activity is an inference, and how a school responds to that inference matters more than its accuracy.
